Anthony Carlo "Tony" Scharver, 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2018


Anthony Carlo "Tony" Scharver, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away January 3, 2018, at the age of 52. He was born June 15, 1965, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Frederick Anthony & Odolina "Lina" (Zanardi) Scharver.

Tony enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer hunting. He also enjoyed playing with remote control helicopters and working jigsaw puzzles. Tony was an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma and worked at Central Burial Vaults in Marlow, Oklahoma. Tony enjoyed going to the lake, especially Lake Lawtonka to go boating, fishing, camping and building bonfires. He was a kind, loving person who never met a stranger and was a laid-back happy-go-lucky guy who would give you the shirt off his back. Tony also enjoyed socializing and having a cold beer with his friends. His first love was spending time with the love of his life, his wife, Dee, his children, and especially his grandchildren.

Tony is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dee Scharver, of the home in Duncan, Oklahoma; 1 daughter, Ashley Scharver, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 1 step-son, Justin Klein, of Yukon, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Bennett & Sutton Klein; his mother, Lina Scharver, of Lawton, Oklahoma; his sister, Tina Henson & husband, Rick, of Oklahoma City; his nephew, Mark Henson & niece, Amie Bryfczynski, of Yukon, Oklahoma.  He is preceded in death by his father, Frederick Scharver; and sister, Catherine.

A Memorial Service for Tony will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2018, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.

God's peace and grace comfort Tony's family and friends. Our parents were life-long friends, and we kept up with Tony through our moms' chats during their weekly coffee visits. He definitely lived every day of his 52 years to the fullest and leaves a wonderful legacy of family and friends.

I just heard about Tony's passing and I am so sorry.. I was a class mate of his in high school. Praying for the family.
